Changes to the 2007 Form 1040-ES - Estimated Tax for Individuals

If you downloaded the 2007 Form 1040-ES before April 18, 2007, please note the following correction:

  • On page 2, under How to Amend Estimated Tax Payments, the line reference to the worksheet on page 4 should be to line 16a instead of line 16.
  • On page 6, the ZIP code for Hartford, CT, for those who live in the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont should be 06176-0001.

Changes to the 2006 Form 1040X - Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

If you downloaded the 2006 Form 1040X, or its instructions, before February 9, 2007, please note the following corrections:

Form 1040X

  • Page references to the instructions have been corrected.
  • The line to report the credit for federal telephone excise tax paid has been changed from line 18 to line 15.

Instructions for Form 1040X

  • The instructions for line 15 have been changed to include the credit for federal telephone excise tax paid.
  • The instructions for line 18 have been deleted.
  • Line references in the 2006 chart on page 7 have been corrected.

Change to the 2006 Instructions for Form 1040 Schedule B – Interest and Ordinary Dividends

If you downloaded the 2006 Instructions to Schedule B before December 28, 2006, please note the following correction:

  • On page B-2, the middle column, the last sentence of the last paragraph has been changed to read: "You can get Form TD F 90-22.1 by visiting the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f90221.pdf."

You may have an incorrect version of the 2006 Instructions for Form 1040EZ if you downloaded the 2006 instructions before

December 2, 2006. Please note the following correction:

  • On page 36, under the "Where Do You File" addresses, Minnesota should only be listed for Fresno; not for Kansas City.

Change to the 2006 Instructions for Form 1040-SS, U.S. Self-Employment Tax Return

If you downloaded the 2006 Instructions for Form 1040-SS before November 24, 2006, please note the following change:

  • On page 4, under "Specific Instructions," we added instructions for line 10 that are directed to current bona fide residents of the U.S. possessions who may qualify to request a credit for federal telephone excise tax paid.
