Beginning in 2004, the Internal Revenue Service began posting "information only" copies of Forms 1098, 1099, 5498, and W-2, with Copy A appearing similar to the official IRS form. Please do not file the "information only" version with the IRS or the Social Security Administration. A penalty of $50 per information return may be imposed if you file paper forms that cannot be scanned.
