Washington State does not have a personal or corporate income tax. However, persons that engage in business in Washington are subject to Business and Occupation Tax and/or Public Utility Tax. These Washington taxes are based on gross receipts of the business.

Tribal Housing authorities and the property of tribal housing authorities are exempt from taxes, such as:

• state and local sales and use taxes,
• state and local excise taxes,
• state and local property taxes, and
• special assessments.

Tribal Housing Authority means the tribal government, or an agency or branch of the tribal government, that operates and administers housing programs for persons of low income or senior citizens and, like all other housing authorities, are exempt from tax anywhere in the state.
