Run For Food

Run for FoodAbout 842 million people in the world do not eat enough to be healthy. Sadly, poor nutrition causes the deaths of more than 3 million children under five each year. Most, if not all of these deaths, are in developing nations.

The problem isn’t a lack of food. There is enough food produced each year to feed the world. The problem is that the food is not efficiently distributed where it is most needed.

On a mission to find innovative and sustainable solutions to end world hunger, Liberty Tax Service’s CEO, John Hewitt, co-founded Run For Food International. This nonprofit 501(c)(3) partners with organizations that are producing measurable results in particular areas of need, including agriculture, feeding facilities, food distribution, livestock, education or economics.

Run For Food’s ambitious goal is to end world hunger. To do that, the organization works with one country at a time. Recent efforts have been focused on Nicaragua, where programs are in place to feed children.

Run For Food International is an evolving initiative that was founded in late 2010. Visit the website to learn how to “Join the Race to End World Hunger.”
