IRS tax formsThe IRS announced Monday that its systems are now operational for all remaining individual and business tax returns. In an early morning email to tax practitioners and software companies the IRS confirmed that it had completed testing of the last 28 tax forms that had been held up due to last minute tax law changes from early January.

All Systems Go!

The late start to the filing season and major changes to IRS and state filing systems has made 2013 a difficult year for America’s taxpayers. Typically, filing starts in mid-January with nearly all federal and state forms ready to process by the beginning of February. This year, the first returns could not be processed until the final days of January and even then many forms and schedules were delayed beyond that date. The good news is that taxpayers that had been waiting to file can now get their returns done without worry that the IRS isn’t ready to process.
