If you have received a reject from the IRS with “000000000PSSN Definition Missing,” do not be alarmed. The IRS needs your 2010 AGI or PIN to acknowledge your 2011 tax return. If you cannot locate your 2010 AGI or PIN used to electronically sign your 2011 return, call the IRS at 1-866-704-7388 for assistance. When calling the IRS, you will be asked a number of questions about your return that you should know (e.g., SSN, birthdate, filing status, etc.). Upon successfully answering those questions, the IRS will assign a new 5-digit password that you will enter as your assigned PIN (instead of using a prior year PIN).
