Procrastinators rejoice! You have three more days!
This year's income tax deadline is Monday, April 18th! Most filers are used to the typical deadline date of April 15, however, this year the normal deadline day falls on an obscure federal holiday so the IRS extended the deadline to the next business day, April 18th! Emancipation Day, a holiday observed in the District of Columbia, falls this year on Friday, April 15. By law, District of Columbia holidays impact tax deadlines in the same way that federal holidays do; therefore, all taxpayers will have three extra days to file this year.
April 18th: Due Date for Federal Income Tax Returns (and Tax Extension requests) - Tax Day for Tax Year 2010 - Filing Deadline
April 18th: Due Date for State Income Tax Returns (for many states - check with your state tax agency) - Tax Day for Tax Year 2010 - Filing Deadline
October 17th: Last day to efile a 2010 Income Tax Return for tax extension and late tax efilers
Most Liberty Tax® locations will be open extended hours through the weekend. Contact your local income tax professional at Liberty Tax® to complete your return or file an extension.
