Are You Eligible For South Carolina’s New Tax Rebate?

The state of South Carolina has passed a bill introducing a new tax rebate program for 2022. With just two qualification requirements, the program seeks to cast a wide net, providing financial relief to families in various financial situations. Under this program, eligible taxpayers can claim a one-time tax rebate — regardless of whether they received a refund!

Who Is Eligible For the SC Tax Rebate?

Although the tax rebate program casts a wide net, it still comes with eligibility criteria that taxpayers must meet. First and foremost, taxpayers must currently reside within the state of South Carolina to qualify. In addition, they must pay State income taxes.

How Much Is South Carolina’s New Tax Rebate Worth?

Under this program, qualifying taxpayers can claim a one-time tax rebate equal to their total tax liability for the year — regardless of whether they received a refund. This rebate does feature a cap, however — if you qualify, you can expect a payout of up to $700.
