Liberty Tax is announcing a new mascot called “Torchie." This lovable character is eager to connect with people locally.
Since we started in 1997, our waving sign spinners have brightened street corners nationally while dressed as the Statue of Liberty. The costume has become our calling card, and a staple of the professional tax preparation industry. When people see our friendly Liberty wavers locally, they know it’s time to file their taxes.
This year, Liberty Tax is introducing a new mascot named “Torchie.” As part of our mission ‘to be trusted locally and respected nationally as the best choice for professional tax services,’ we’ve created this lovable character to connect with people locally. Based on the torch of the Statue of Liberty, Torchie is a welcoming light and a reminder for us to love our neighbors.
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, thousands of costumed Torchie wavers will populate the streets to introduce the public to the character and remind people of the open 2024 tax season. We’ve equipped our 2,500+ tax offices with a Torchie costume and will be promoting the day by using hashtag #Torchie on social media.
Torchie hangs out with teens to tell them about how taxes work.
Torchie helps workers find all their available tax credits.
Ironically, Torchie loves local firefighters and appreciates their service.
